ROME Part I November 20-26th 2012 This tour is FULL

Rome, in November, is lovely. If you have the feet to walk with me all around her neighborhoods and the heart to appreciate her and the mind to wonder about her (and some cash) you may come along.

The trip will feature well-known destinations as well as off-the-beaten-path explorations. And if you so choose you may join me on a day trip to the delightful Umbrian hill town of Assisi. Through the viewfinder of art and history, cultural studies and food, you will come to know Rome and her ways.

Included in the price: estimated now at $2300, cost may vary a little depending on flights. I will do everything I can to get the best prices and let you know if the cost is going to change at all.

– Air: Direct flight Philadelphia – Rome, with transport to and from all airports.
– Room: We will stay in a beautiful old convent in the heart of the old city
– Breakfast
– Vatican Entrance
– And me. I will take care of you! You can relax.

Additional costs:
Train ticket, lunches, dinners, a few entrances to sites, taxis or bus trips. I will be more specific later.

Why come with me?
My trips take on an insider’s perspective. Not needing to waste time studying maps and figuring out what to do you will get to know the city with ease. Staying in a convent in the heart of the old quarter you will have the best of Rome at your doorstep and as much free time as you like.

Or you can join me on scheduled adventures. I plan something each morning and some afternoons. And in the evening we can dine together in a trattoria that few tourists will know. Or we can let the sisters feast us.

We will visit parts of Rome off the beaten path. But of course the main sights will be seen as well. So if you have the feet, mind, and heart, and want to have an adventure come along.

This is not a bus tour. If you want to that type of trip this is not for you.

In the spring I will look for a financial commitment and will book the flights and rooms. So think about it and let me know if I should put you on the list. A small group will fill quickly.

Stay tuned Rome Part II Spring 2013 — This trip will feature other parts of the city beyond the regular tourists stops and a day trip to Orvieto. A Southern Italy trip is in the planning.
